Norwegian National Unit for Rehabilitation for Rheumatic Patients with Special Needs

The National Unit offers person centered, specialized interdisciplinary rehabilitation for patients over 18 years with inflammatory rheumatic disease. The target group is patients with complex illness challenges and increasing function- og activity problems.

The rehabilitation is planned and organized through close cooperation between the patient and the specialized interdisciplinary team. The team consists of rheumatologist, nurse, social worker, psychologist, physiotherapist and occupational therapist. Cooperation with the referring rheumatologist and relevant local health services is a part of our routines.

The unit has 5 in-patient places. Treatment results are closely monitored and published annually on our web site.

In addition to clinical rehabiliation work, NBRR as a National Unit also offers lectures and courses for health personnel. The unit is involved in several relevant research project, and has a close cooperation with Norwegian National Advisory Unit on Rehabilitation in Rheumatology.
